New restaurant and speakeasy to open in Old Town Bluffton. Here’s what to know
Need new dinner plans?
Greenhouse at May River, the soon-to-be hotspot that’s equal parts Southern flair and speakeasy charm, is set to open this November in Old Town Bluffton.
Located at 1260 May River Road, on the corner of Wharf Street, this new restaurant is next door to the Bluffton Police Department Downtown Substation and across the street from other popular dining spots in Old Town, including Pomodori Too! and May River Grill.
This two-story restaurant and speakeasy’s co-founders are a sister duo, Jennifer and Melissa Perri.
Jennifer Perri is a hospitality veteran with experience in food and beverage at Palmetto Bluff and is also the owner of a local events company, Elegant Affair Events.
Melissa Perri balances Jennifer’s culinary and event skills with her background in business and entrepreneurship as the founder of the online school, Product Institute, and as a former Harvard Business School faculty member.
Together, their combined experience is turning this once vacant lot in Old Town into an ode to Victorian glam and casual cocktails.
What will they offer?
This space, spanning 4,450 square feet and two levels, will hold both a speakeasy and a restaurant area, providing an all-encompassing venue.
The menu is designed with farm-to-table items and provides an allergen-friendly atmosphere for a communal dining experience for a variety of occasions.
The food offerings will bring familiar shareable Southern dishes, but with unique touches to dial up the options.
According to Melissa Perri, the menu will have an “elevated American comfort experience with global influence.”
Some menu items already planned for the space include:
Charcuterie & sharing plates
Wings & pot pie
Burgers with Maryland crab toppings
Tucked away on the back side is the speakeasy space, which is set to hold an array craft cocktails and a wide beer and wine selection.
What’s next?
