Don’t miss the annual Beaufort Oyster Festival from Jan. 9 to 19.

In this week full of food, festivities, local vendors, a 5K and live entertainment, you’ll want to be a part of the action.

Hosted by the Beaufort Area Hospitality Association, this festival celebrates and supports all parts of the oystering culture in the Lowcountry. It makes up a large part of the tourism, economy, history, agriculture and cuisine of the area.

All the oysters provided for the festival are locally farmed or harvested and you’re guaranteed to find them steamed, raw, roasted or even fried.

This year’s festival will be held in Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park, 2227 Boundary Street.

Here is a rundown of events throughout the festival:

January 9

The festival kicks off on Jan. 9 with Tides to Tables, also known as Restaurant Week, where local restaurants feature their own cuisine. This event lasts throughout the entire festival, until Jan. 19.

Vendors include Brody’s Bar and Grill, Old Bull Tavern, Chef Frank’s Bistro and many more.
