Here are several Christmas season 5K events to try in Hilton Head that let you help those in need

Grab your sneakers and get moving this Christmas with these upcoming 5K runs throughout the Lowcountry.
Perfect for families or a solo workout, these upcoming races will get your energy up and exercise in.
Palmetto Bluff Community Santa Run 5K - 68 Boundary Street
Grab your Santa hats and water bottles this Saturday, Dec. 21, for the Community Santa Run/Walk 5K.
The race will start at 9 a.m. and you can register here by Dec. 19. Registration with a shirt is $40 and without a shirt is $25.
All proceeds from the race benefit Bluffton Self Help.
Participants are encouraged to bring toy donations for the Bluffton Boys & Girls Club and/or non-perishable food items for Bluffton Self Help to support the community through the holidays.
Following the race, there will be food and beverage trucks, bounce houses and a shrimp boat park to enjoy a sense of community.
Spoiler alert … the weather forecast calls for snow at the finish line.

Hilton Head Jingle Jingle Bridge Run - Crossings Park
Don’t miss the 33rd Hilton Head Jingle Jingle Bridge Run this Sunday, Dec. 22.
The race will start at 8 a.m. and you can register for the 5K or 10K here. It costs $40 for the 5K race and $50 for the 10K.
Participants will receive a Jingle Jingle Bridge Run T-shirt and, of course, jingle bells to ring as you dash over Broad Creek.
Make sure to be in holiday spirit and wear your best Santa hat, elf hat or any other holiday outfit.
Following the race, there will be an award ceremony with refreshments, music, prizes and maybe a visit from Santa.

Christmas 5K Virtual Running Event - Anywhere
If you’d rather run on your own time, then the Virtual Christmas 5K might be for you.
From now until Dec. 25, you can register online and complete 5K from your home, gym, treadmills or favorite trail this season.
Register through their website until 9 p.m. on Christmas day for $24.99.
Participants will receive a shirt and a digital coin as a keepsake.
