A park bench at the traffic circle at Squire Pope and Gumtree roads has now been adorned with a boat anchor in memory of Bluffton resident Jason Flack who was killed in a hit-and-run collision on February 25 on Hilton Head Island. Sylvia Nelanader, 61 of Hilton Head, was arrested by the South Carolina Highway Patrol as the accused driver of the vehicle. Besides the anchor, stuffed animals, colorful artificial flowers and a sign with text on the back of the bench gives Flack’s quote he was known for saying, “Hey, I’m glad you got to see me today.”
