Alljoy Boat Landing in Bluffton will close for at least two months for improvements starting this week.

Beaufort County plans to install nine 8- by 12-foot floating dock sections to create a 180-food dock.

Construction is expected to be completed by the end of March, depending on weather and supply delays, according to a news release from Beaufort County.

R.L. Morrison & Sons Inc. was awarded the bid to complete the work; it is expected to cost $534,730.

“We know this will be an inconvenience to the regular users of the boat landing,” Neil Desai, Beaufort County director of public works, said in the release. “I encourage our citizens to use one of the nearby landings until the work is completed.”

Other area boat landings include Oyster Factory Park at 75 Wharf St. in Bluffton (May River); the C.C. Haigh Jr. Boat Landing at 1640 Fording Island Road Extension and the Buckingham Boat Landing at 55 Fording Island Road Extension (Mackay Creek); and the H.E. Trask Sr. Boat Landing at 325 Sawmill Creek Road (Colleton River).
