Learn the haunted past of Beaufort at this spooky SC ghost tour. Dates, what to know
Were you looking to know about Beaufort’s haunted past? This weekend is the perfect time to experience and learn about the historic city’s past.
Each year, the Child Abuse Prevention Association hosts annual ghost tours that take willing participants through the historic streets of downtown Beaufort. This is the event’s 29th year and is sponsored by The Exchange Club of Beaufort. Thai weekend will hold the last tours of the season this year.
During the tour, guests will hear a plentiful amount of spine-tingling tellings of haunted stories about the local area.
The tour is split into two different modes of transportation for your convenience.
The ghost tours will be available as 45-minute carriage rides or as 60-minute walking tours. Throughout the duration of the time, attendees will get to meet ghosts along the way who will reveal spooky tales and local legends.
The walking ghost tours of downtown Beaufort begin at 7 p.m. and will leave every 20 minutes from Cannon Park, which can be found at 611 Bay Street. Each narrated walking tour lasts approximately one hour. This tour costs $20 for all ages to attend.
As for the carriage tour. These tours will be run by Southern Rose Buggy Tours, who will be offering the last ghostly tours of the season for the annual event.
The carriage tours will be leaving every 15 minutes beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday from the parking lot at 1006 Bay Street. These tours last about 45 minutes and cost $30 per adult and $20 for children aged 3-11 years old.
