With Halloween night just under a week away, candy lovers are gearing up to fill their bags full of sweets.
Luckily, there are plenty of opportunities this year to fill your candy stash at multiple events in the coming days.
If you are looking for family-friendly events in Beaufort County to kick-start your Halloween activities, it’s time to grab your bags and begin collecting candy at these seven local trunk-or-treat events.
Trick-or-Treat in Old Town Bluffton will take place on Thursday from 3-7 p.m., where patrons will have the chance to trick or treat with various businesses in Old Town. Candy seekers should keep an eye out for green pumpkins as they walk through Old Town Bluffton, as they mark which local businesses are participating in the Halloween fun.
Halloween at Coligny on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. will offer a large-scale event for local families to join in the Halloween festivities and fill up their bags of free candy. The event will feature trick-or-treating at the Coligny Plaza shops and restaurants, with many of the stores staying open later for the special event. Attendees will also have the opportunity to win Coligny gift cards after winning the costume contest, which will begin at 6 p.m. and will have different age categories. The event will take place in the Coligny Plaza Shopping Center on the south end of Hilton Head Island at 1 N Forest Beach Drive.
The Bluffton Police Department will host the third annual Safety Spooktacular event at Oscar Frazier Park in Bluffton, located at 7 Recreation Court, on Friday from 5-7 p.m. The night promises Halloween fun, a candy-filled trunk-n-treat and an opportunity for attendees to get to know local organizations and first responders. At this free event, each organization at the park will distribute Halloween candy and safety information to guests, with Bluffton police officers also grilling hot dogs for everyone. Anyone who plans to attend, regardless of age, are encouraged to show up wearing their best Halloween costumes. For those who choose to dress up, there will be a costume contest at 6:30 p.m. If you have a dog, families are encouraged to bring their furry friends and dress them up in their own Halloween costume as there will be a dog costume contest as well. Winners of each category will win a prize.
The Town of Port Royal will present its annual trunk-or-treat on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. on Paris Avenue. Trunks for the event will be lined up between 9th and 12th Streets to offer a fun and safe trick-or-treating experience for kids of all ages. Attendees are also encouraged to dress in their spookiest Halloween attire to join in the fun. Pets will not be allowed.
Lowcountry Community Church is hosting its annual trunk-or-treat event on Sunday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The event will feature a traffic-free candy collecting area with dozens of themed trunks, which will end with a field maze. Attendees are encouraged to dress up to collect their candy and have a good time at this event. Lowcountry Community Church can be found at 801 Buckwalter Parkway in Bluffton.
Candy enthusiasts can join the inaugural Family Trunk or Treat presented by the Gullah Geechee Initiative Foundation Inc. on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the Penn Center, which can be found at 16 Penn Center Circle West on Saint Helena Island. The event will be a safe place to trunk-or-treat with free candy, prizes, music, photo booth, movie night, trunk costume, costume contests and more.
- On all Hallow’s Eve, the Hardeeville trunk-or-treat will take place on Halloween from 5:30-7 p.m. The family-friendly Halloween event will involve spooky music, candy and treats as well as costume contests for four different age groups and a competition for the three best-decorated trunks. Each of the three winners for the trunk decorating contest will win prizes. This free event to attend event will be open to the public and located in Hardeeville at 205 Main Street behind City Hall. For Beaufort County residents who live near the Jasper County border, this event may allow your family to have a closer event for safer travels on Halloween night.
