Harbourfest in Hilton Head is back! Dates, what to know
With the beginning of the summer season widely marked by Memorial Day and the end of the school year, many families are looking for summer events and things to do.
This year, HarbourFest will return for its 34th year at Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina on Hilton Head Island. The multi-week festival will feature 12 fireworks shows that will be free and open to the public.
The weekly event will run from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend on Tuesdays.
This year’s fireworks schedule will run on Tuesdays with the following dates:
June 6, 13, 20, 27
July 4, 11, 18, 25
August 1, 8, 15, 22
This year, the 12 running weeks of this festival will include 12 nights of firework shows, which will begin once the sky is dark and will include Hilton Head’s largest fireworks display on July 4.
This will be Shelter Cove’s eighth year working with pyrotechnics master Brent Fisher and his crew from Falcon Firework to deliver fireworks shows for locals and visitors alike to enjoy.
On these nights, kids will also have bounce houses and train rides around the marina promenade to enjoy.
This family-friendly event will feature live entertainment, kids activities and face painting.
Shannon Tanner and Cappy the Clown will also be featured at this event.
Entertainment at the weeks-long festival will include:
Shannon Tanner family show: Will begin Memorial Day weekend, as well as Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning May 29 until Aug 23 with two shows at 6:30 p.m. & 8:00 p.m.
Parrot Palooza with Shannon Tanner & the Oyster Reefers: Will take place on Thursdays from June 15 until August 24 as well as during Labor Day weekend with all shows starting at 7:00 p.m. The Parrot Palooza is a family friendly, island-inspired show where Shannon Tanner joins his Jimmy Buffett tribute band, Shannon Tanner & The Oyster Reefers for a fun shift into a “Caribbean sunset mode.”
Cappy the Clown: Will begin Memorial Day weekend and will continue Monday through Friday from May 29 – Sept. 1 and will additionally include Labor Day weekend with all appearances occurring from 6-9 p.m. Cappy the Clown will be returning for another year at HarbourFest to entertain attending kids with activities including face painting, balloon animals, sand art, and glitter tattoos.
