From Food Lion to Kroger, here is when 6 Beaufort grocery stores will be open on Thanksgiving

The holidays can be a hectic time of year and last minute shopping sprees may become necessary. Whether you’ve forgotten to get eggs or there is a last-minute guest joining your family for dinner, Thanksgiving certainly isn’t exempt from the holiday mania.

It may be necessary to do some 11th-hour shopping, but being a national holiday, many places may not be open on Turkey Day or will have limited hours.

Here are six grocery stores that will be open on Thanksgiving in Beaufort County. Check with your local grocer as holiday hours may change as we begin to get closer to the holiday.

  • The Fresh Market: Will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Food Lion: Will be open from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

  • Harris Teeter: Will be open from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m .

  • Kroger: Store locations will have reduced hours on a store-by-store basis. As presently reported, the Hilton Head Island Shelter Cove and Bluffton Belfair Towne Village locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Buckwalter Place location in Bluffton will be open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

  • Whole Foods: Will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Piggly Wiggly: Holiday hours per store may vary. The Coligny Plaza location on Hilton Head Island will be open from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. In Port Royal, the location at Royal Oaks Shopping Center will be open from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Popular grocery locations such as Walmart, Target, Sam’s Club, Publix and Nantucket’s Meat & Fish Market will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
