It’s National Dog Week.

Beginning September 20 and ending on the 27th, National Dog Week is our nation’s annual celebration of our furry canine companions.

Looking for a way to celebrate this holiday in the Lowcountry?

Here are four dog parks in Beaufort County to take your dog to this week.

Chaplin Park Best Friends Dog Park

Located in Chaplin Community Park on Hilton Head Island, Chaplin Park Best Friends Dog Park is rated a 4.7 out of 5 bones on BringFido.com, a popular pet travel site. This dog park offers ample space with fenced-in areas for both small and large dogs, benches, shade provided by overhead trees and water fountains that your pet is sure to enjoy. Chaplin Park Best Friends Dog Park can be found on the island at 625-637 William Hilton Parkway.

Oscar Frasier Dog Park

The Bluffton Dog Park at Oscar Frazier Park in Bluffton is a great place to bring your family’s furry friend. This park is fenced and shaded with overhead trees, picnic tables and the ability to take your dog off-leash. Located near the Promenade in Old Town Bluffton, this dog park can be found at 77 Shults Road.

Southside Dog Park

Located in Beaufort, Southside Dog Park has areas for both small and large dogs. The area is fenced-off and shaded by mossy oak trees. The park features water fountains and benches as well as doggy waste bags to help keep the park clean. This dog park can be found in Southside Park at 2705 Waddell Road, Port Royal.

Burton Wells Dog Park

Another dog park in Beaufort, Burton Wells Dog Park offers off-leash excitement for your pet, as well as the opportunity for your furry friend to splash around in a water feature best described as a “watering hole” as they enjoy their time at the park. This popular park has two separate sections for both small and large dogs to play within their size-specific designated area for the safety of all. Burton Wells also offers paved trails surrounding the fenced-in areas for you to walk your dog after playtime. This dog park is located in Beaufort at 118 Burton Wells Road.
