This South Carolina fishing spot is now ranked among the best in the U.S. Check it out

Hilton Head Island is a renowned vacation destination for coastal bliss. Located in the South Carolina Lowcountry, Hilton Head, as well as what’s located within and around, has garnered numerous accolades throughout the years.

The island has recently raked in another title.

Hilton Head Island was recently named the second best summer fishing destination in the United States.

“Surrounded by creeks, a sound, and the ocean, this place revolves around the water,” wrote FishingBooker on their website while describing Hilton Head Island’s fishing scene.

The new accolade, bestowed on the island by FishingBooker, a large online platform for booking fishing trips, has long been realized by local sportsmen.

The Lowcountry has been a well-known fishing spot for anglers, between surf fishing along the coast and floating along the marsh waters looking for Redfish and more.

Described by FishingBooker as “ a true angling epicenter,” Hilton Head Island dangles in just second place on the list out of everywhere else in the country, sitting just behind Indian River County, Florida.

Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey took third place just behind the South Carolina island.

Other states that followed Florida, South Carolina and New Jersey on the list were Maine, Texas, Kansas, Utah, Montana, Washington and even Hawaii.

“Summertime means multiple options. The backwaters guard cobia, while reefs hide snappers and groupers. Tarpon and redfish dominate the area closer to shore, while mahi mahi, tuna, and sailfish are out in the Gulf Stream. However, the ultimate local attraction is shark fishing.”, wrote FishingBooker.
