Ready for Cinco de Mayo on Hilton Head Island? Here are 6 places you should go

Landing on your calendar this Thursday, Cinco de Mayo is right around the corner.

Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration occurring every fifth of May intended to commemorate the military victory over French forces in 1862 at the Battle of Puebla.

Want to celebrate in style? If you’re looking for a fiesta or just want to have some fun, here are six places to celebrate Cinco de Mayo on Hilton Head Island this Thursday.

Tio’s

Tio’s Latin American Kitchen is celebrating Cinco de Mayo this year at both their Hilton Head and Bluffton locations on Thursday. Maestro Dobel Tequila representatives will be at the Hilton Head Island location in Shelter Cove for an hour between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. serving shots and other specials. Milagro Tequila representatives will be at the Bluffton location from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. serving a $5 Milagro shot special. The company will also be at the Shelter Cove location from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. with the same offer.

San Miguel’s

San Miguel’s is celebrating Cinco de Mayo with a variety of specials and live music all day long during normal operating hours. This marina-front restaurant in Shelter Cove features both indoor as well as outdoor seating and their celebration specials include:

  • $9 Margaronas

  • $4 chilled el Jimador Tequila shots

  • $22 buckets of Corona and Corona Light

  • $11 for three tacos

  • $4 queso and guacamole dips

  • $5 chicken or barbeque chicken nachos

Aunt Chilada’s

Aunt Chilada’s Easy Street Cafe is celebrating Cinco de Mayo by opening early at 11 a.m. and having live music all day on the patio and from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. for those dining inside, featuring four different artists. They will offer $15 buckets of beer all day long as well as $5 House Margaritas. Happy hour will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the bar area with food specials accompanying happy hour.

Holy Tequila

Holy Tequila is hosting its own party for Cinco de Mayo with live music all evening, an outdoor satellite bar and specials including $7.50 margaritas and other family-style specials available to-go.

Charbar, located adjacent to Holy Tequila in the Park Place Plaza, will host an event with live music and margaritas as well, while serving its usual menu.

Amigos

Amigos Cafe Y Cantina will host a fiesta for the day on Thursday, with a $6 house margarita special near Coligny in celebration of Cinco de Mayo.

Hilton Head Island Senior Center

The Hilton Head Island Senior Center will host a Cinco de Mayo celebration at noon on Thursday. Registration is $15 for members, but guests are welcome for a small guest fee. Holy Tequila will cater to provide guests with tacos, rice and beans. Games and prizes, bingo and virgin margaritas will all be a part of the celebration. An RSVP is required in advance by calling 843-785-6444.
