You’ve got 1 week to register to vote. Here’s how you can do it today in Beaufort Co.

The League of Women Voters Beaufort Area and Beaufort County Pan-Hellenic Council are holding a drive-through voter registration and census drive today.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Port Royal Piggly Wiggly parking lot at 1347 Ribaut Rd.

Participants will get free ice cream and listen to live music by DJ Doug Rhodin.

The deadline to register to vote in November’s election is fast approaching: It’s Oct. 2 for in-person registration and Oct. 4 for online, email or fax registrations.

A federal judge’s ruling Thursday extended the deadline to fill out the 2020 census to Oct. 31. Previously, the deadline was Wednesday.
