Savannah TV station remembers news anchor killed in crash on anniversary of his death

Monday marked one year since former WTOC TV’s news anchor Don Logana’s death.

The television station posted a video to their Facebook page in his memory Monday, asking viewers to share their memories of the anchor as well.

“We know many of you miss Don as much as we do,” the post says. “So we wanted to share this beautiful memory of our friend.”

“Rest peacefully, Don.”

WTOC’s Cyreia Sandlin also spoke with Logana’s sister on Sunday — and found out his brother’s wife gave birth to a baby boy last month, and his sister is pregnant now.

Logana was killed when an allegedly drunk driver hit the car he was a passenger in on U.S. 17 in Jasper County.

The driver of Logana’s vehicle and two other passengers were also injured.

A Savannah man — 31-year-old Cleveland Coleman — was charged with felony driving under the influence after the crash.

Coleman was extradited to the Jasper County Detention Center and denied bond in February, WTOC reports.

Erich Richter, the driver of Logana’s vehicle, was also charged with a DUI the same week Coleman was sent to Jasper County.
