Hilton Head's dog show smart about canine flu with more than 400 breeds
There were a lot of dogs in Ridgeland this weekend.
439 to be exact, came with their owners and handlers from all over the country to compete in Hilton Head Island Kennel Club All Breed Dog Show over the weekend at Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School.
Of those 439, there were 95 different dog breeds.
“This was one of the first dog shows I’ve been to in a few months where everyone showed up,” Josh Actor, a handler and breeder of Skye Terriers from North Carolina, said. “Since the dog flu outbreak, people have stayed away just to be safe.”
To help keep ease people’s worries about the dog flu special precautions were instated at this year’s dog show. Check out this video to find out more about what they did to prevent the spread of the dog flu at the dog show in Ridgeland.
