Update: What Hilton Head resorts are still closed and when will they open?
While a majority of Hilton Head Island’s resorts have gone back to business as usual nearly two weeks after Hurricane Matthew hammered the South Carolina coast, a few resorts remain closed.
Below are resorts that are still closed and have provided their reopening dates on their website, Facebook or revealed them to The Island Packet and The Beaufort Gazette:
- Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort: Closed until after Oct. 26, no opening date listed
- Marriott Vacation Club Harbor Club: Opening Oct. 31
- Marriott Harbor Point: Opening Oct. 29
- Marriott Heritage Club: Opening Oct 31
- *Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort: Closed, no opening date listed
Warren Woodard, director of sales and marketing for the Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort, said the resort did sustain “minor damage” from Hurricane Mathew and they are currently making repairs. Woodard said the Omni Resort is current accepting future reservations beginning Jan. 1, but will move that date might move to earlier.
