Bring a hearty appetite to the Kiwanis Chili Cookoff on Hilton Head

It doesn’t have to be chilly outside to cozy up to the scrumptious selections at the Kiwanis Club of Hilton Head Island’s Chili-Cookoff Oct. 8 at the Coastal Discovery Museum on Hilton Head.

And better yet, the annual event is an all-you-can-eat affair from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., rain or shine.

The stars of the cookoff are the varieties of chili dishes created by local professional and amateur cooks. Chefs will compete in separate categories for best chili. Categories include restaurants, amateurs, young chefs, resorts, grocery stores and assisted living centers.

The Chilly Willy Band will fittingly perform and an area will be set up for free games and activities for the kids. Beer, wine, soda, hot dogs and ice cream will also be available for purchase.

Tickets are available for $15 each in advance and $20 the day of the event at 70 Honey Horn Drive. For more information, go to coastaldiscovery.org.
