Hilton Head Hospital to offer free vascular screenings

Hilton Head Hospital will conduct free vascular screenings from 9 a.m. to noon on June 4 at 25 Hospital Center Blvd.

The screenings identify abdominal aortic aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease and carotid artery disease, according to a hospital news release.

Those 50 or older with cardiovascular risk factors such as a history of hypertension, diabetes, smoking, high cholesterol or known cardiovascular disease are candidates for screenings. Other conditions associated with a risk for vascular disease include obesity, lack of exercise and family history of vascular disease, the release said.

Dr. David Kastl, a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon at Hilton Head Hospital, will oversee the screenings.

Appointments are necessary and space is limited.
