Beaufort ER physician chosen as S.C.’s ‘Preceptor of the Year’

A longtime emergency room physician at Beaufort Memorial Hospital has won the “South Carolina Preceptor of the Year” award.

Saeed Rehman, MD, an ER physician at the hospital for 20 years, won the award for outstanding clinical education provided to health profession students, according to a news release.

Rehman was chosen from among hundreds of healthcare providers from across the state who volunteer to teach students as part of their practice.

The award was announced last month at the annual meeting of the South Carolina Area Health Education Consortium, an organization that works with state teaching hospitals to educate, recruit and retain healthcare providers.
