Free cancer training seminar offered on St. Helena

The Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition and the Medical University of South Carolina’s Hollings Cancer Center will offer free cancer educator facilitator training this week.

The training is from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday April 16, at the St. Helena Branch Library, 6355 Jonathan Francis Senior Road, St. Helena Island.

The training helps participants identify things that cause an increased risk of cancer and provides information on healthy lifestyle choices.

Those interested in participating should pre-register by April 11 either in person at the library or by emailing gullgeeco@aol.com.
