The medical staff at Coastal Carolina Hospital recently donated $5000 to Bluffton Self Help.

The money will be used to help the agency provide services to families and individuals affected by Hurricane Matthew, according to hospital news release.

“Each year, the medical staff considers community organizations it wants to help. We are especially interested in those organizations that are helping people with basic needs such as food, housing and clothing,” Kristin Cedeno, director of medical staff services at the hospital, said in a statement. “After Hurricane Matthew, we realized many local agencies such as Bluffton Self Help were being called upon to aid families whose resources were limited.”

Alyson Barber, executive director of Bluffton Self Help, said the donation will go a long ways in supporting many of its clients who have emergency costs, according to the news release.
