4 free COVID-19 testing pop-up clinics announced in Beaufort, Hampton, Jasper counties
Four COVID-19 testing sites will be open to the public Thursday through Wednesday in Beaufort, Hampton, and Jasper counties.
The mobile clinics are free as part of the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control’s efforts to increase testing in “underserved and rural communities.”
The upcoming sites include:
- 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Jasper County Farmers Market in Ridgeland
- 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Jasper County Alternative School in Ridgeland
- 9 a.m. to noon Monday at the Municipal Complex in Yemassee
- 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Whale Branch Early College High School in Seabrook
Testing does not require an appointment or doctor’s referral.
Labs and clinics have been returning COVID-19 test results faster than they were last month when some patients were waiting two weeks or more for results, The Island Packet reported.
The number of positive coronavirus cases in Beaufort County has dropped recently, but that drop coincided with a decline in the number of tests administered in the county, according to DHEC.
