USCB to continue online learning through spring semester as coronavirus prevention

University of South Carolina Beaufort will not meet in-person for the rest of the spring semester as a coronavirus prevention measure after a Thursday executive order by S.C. Gov. Henry McMaster.

McMaster ordered all public universities to provide instruction online during a late afternoon press conference.

USCB said its commencement also would be postponed. A new date was not announced.

“This postponement of ceremony will not impact degree-completion status for students who are scheduled to graduate,” a news release says.

All USCB campuses – Bluffton, Beaufort, Hilton Head Island – are operational for essential services only.

The university had previously canceled classes through March 21.
