How McClatchy journalists across the US are covering the coronavirus pandemic

COVID-19, the novel coronavirus, has affected every part of America, from rural towns in Kansas to the beaches and city streets of Miami. Some communities have been impacted more than others, but none are immune to the disease. We are living lives isolated inside our homes, told to stay there until the virus’ spread eases.

Hospitals are overloaded and wondering how they will handle the influx of patients. Medical workers on the front lines are brave but afraid. Critical medical equipment is in short supply. Jobs have been put on hold or lost. Schools are suspended, putting students’ lives on hold. All of our lives have become a little more uncertain, a little scarier.

McClatchy properties across the country are reporting the developments as they happen, giving readers the facts they need. But we are also going deeper, examining the issues and investigating how this happened and how each of our communities and the country will overcome and recover.
