Wayne Windham Architect wins award for home design

Wayne Windham Architect P.A., with offices on Hilton Head Island and in Charleston, received the American Institute of Architects South Carolina’s Robert Mills Residential New Construction Honor Design Award last month at the Columbia Art Museum in Columbia.

Wayne Windham received the award for a private residence designed for a client in Cassique on Kiawah Island. The home is designed in the English Arts and Crafts style and was influenced by the design sensibilities of Charles Voysey and Edwin Lutyens.

Windham has designed custom homes in the Lowcountry for more than 30 years. This is the second time his designs have received the top AIASC award. He has also won nine Aurora Awards and four Best in America Living Awards, two of which received Home of the Year and one Builder’s Choice Award.
