A nearly 200-year-old Greek Revival residence in downtown Charleston is on the market following an extensive restoration.

Listed by Maison Real Estate for $7.4 million, 169 Wentworth Street — known historically as the Corbett Irving House — was constructed in 1837 in the Harleston Village neighborhood, one of the city’s oldest residential areas.

Outdoor areas of the home feature landscaped grounds with garden spaces, brick walkways and a central pool with sunbeds. A separate pool house includes living space, a bedroom and bath, along with a ground-level garage.

The 4,500-square-foot property includes four bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. It reflects architectural characteristics associated with Charleston’s mid-19th-century Greek Revival period, which gained prominence in the United States during the decades before the Civil War.

The house has undergone a major renovation, but the project focused on maintaining the structure’s architectural integrity while adapting the layout for contemporary use.

The restoration intended to blend the history rooted in the home while repurposing it to accommodate modern-day living.

Situated behind a gated entry framed by mature live oaks, the home offers a sense of serenity and privacy.
