Beaufort County extends redemption period for properties sold at tax sale

Due to the recent closure of Beaufort County’s government offices, Treasurer Maria Walls has extended the redemption period for properties sold at the delinquent tax sale until Friday.

Delinquent property owners will have until 5 p.m. on Friday to redeem their property by paying all taxes, fees and penalties owed, according to a news release from the treasurer’s office.

Taxes may be paid at one of the three treasurer office locations or by mail.
