Savannah airport sees increases in passenger traffic

Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport is reporting increases in passenger traffic:

▪  202,003 passengers used the airport in April, an 8 percent increase over the same month last year

▪  648,197 passengers have used the airport so far this year, an increase of 9 percent over the same period in 2015

▪  14 percent more available seats were reported for April over the same period in 2015

Market share for airlines serving Savannah/Hilton Head International in April was:

▪  Delta Air Lines: 44 percent

▪  American: 24 percent

▪  JetBlue: 12 percent

▪  United Airlines: 15 percent

▪  Allegiant: 4 percent

▪  Sun Country: 1 percent

On June 2, Allegiant Air will add nonstop seasonal service between Lexington, Ky., and Savannah/Hilton Head International. The new service will operate twice weekly.
