Business, ports officials to speak on progress of Jasper Ocean Terminal

The Jasper County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the first State of the Jasper Ocean Terminal Luncheon at 12:30 p.m. May 2 at Pinckney Hall, 114 Sun City Lane, Bluffton.

The event is sponsored by the Jasper Ocean Terminal Joint Venture and will include remarks from Jimmy Allgood, vice chairman of the Georgia Ports Authority and Doug Marchand, retired executive director of the Georgia Ports Authority.

Officials from both Georgia and South Carolina will present updated reports, projections and plans for the terminal, according to a Jasper County Chamber of Commerce release.

Luncheon seating is expected to be limited.

The cost of the luncheon is $25 per person for the public and $20 for Jasper County Chamber members. Corporate tables are also available.
