Hickory Tavern to open March 16 on Hilton Head Island

Hickory Tavern, a casual dining sports bar and restaurant, opens March 16 at 44 Shelter Cove Lane on Hilton Head Island, where Fuddruckers used to be.

This is the fifth South Carolina location for the Charlotte-based restaurant chain, which first opened almost 20 years ago and has been named a runner-up in ESPN’s Best Sports Bar in North America contest.

The restaurant features sports bar favorites like wings and burgers along with an upscale menu that includes shrimp and grits, crab legs and lobster rolls. There is also a build-your-own-salad option. The bar offers 100 beers, 32 on tap, and about 70 TVs.

Hours are 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Happy hour is 4 to 7 p.m.
