Charleston boat show to start Friday

The 36th Annual Charleston Boat Show will open Jan. 29.

The show, which runs from Jan. 29-31, will feature the latest models, boat equipment and services.

On Saturday, the show also will feature the Coastal Fishing Expo, a Department of Natural Resources fishing simulator, pirate treasure hunts and fishing classes for children. Each child will have the opportunity to take home a free rod and reel.

The show's hours are noon-6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $10 with discounts for children, seniors and members of the military with ID.

VIP tickets, which allow for early access from 10 a.m. to noon on Jan. 29, are also available for $35. VIP tickets also include access to the show for the entire weekend, an official boat show T-shirt, a commemorative poster, drink tickets and a breakfast buffet.
