Free tax assistance returning to Beaufort County next year

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program will offer free tax help again next year beginning Feb. 1.

The program helps people who earn less than $54,000 a year, persons with disabilities, the elderly and limited-English speakers file their basic income tax return electronically.

Volunteers will be stationed throughout Beaufort County during February, March and April. For a full list of dates, times and locations for the program, go to www.vitalowcountry.org.
