Ophthalmologist's work through public service program garners President's Volunteer Service Award

Local ophthalmologist Scott Anfinson was recently awarded the President's Volunteer Service Award by President Barack Obama for his work with EyeCare America, a program that works to restore the vision of senior citizens.

Dr. Anfinson has practiced eye care in Bluffton for 15 years, according to a news release.

A program of the Foundation of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, EyeCare America is one of the largest public service programs in American medicine.
