Emily Cohn had a hysterectomy in May, ending years of chronic pain.

But the operation changed one aspect of her life significantly.

"It took away my chances of having a baby," Cohn said.

The 28-year-old Bluffton woman is instead channeling her love of kids into a Lowcountry business launching this month.

Moonlit Lullaby, at 1019 Fording Island Road, Suite 103-G, in Bluffton, is a children's boutique with a projected opening of Nov. 16. The store, in the former Josie's Frozen Yogurt spot, will offer clothes, gifts and other items related to children.

Moonlit Lullaby is a departure from Cohn's previous business experience. She operated 14 discount tobacco outlets in Arkansas and Mississippi before moving to Bluffton in June.

Cohn said she aims to offer inventory at all price points at her boutique and hopes to eventually add new stores in other parts of the Lowcountry.

"I love this town," Cohn said. "This is where I want to spend the rest of my life."
