Burgers and Brews winners named

Here are the winners from Saturday's Burgers and Brew event held at Shelter Cove Community Park. Eleven restaurants competed.

People's Choice

1st place - Charbar Co.

The Champ: bacon marmalade cheeseburger. Dirty South: Pork belly pimento jalapeno burger. Chili Cheese Frito Burger with sweet onion.

2nd place - The Lodge

Stoned Smoked Porter Slider: cheddar & stone smoked porter onions, Hot Asian Slider: Hot Asian sauce, wonton strips, & siracha drizzle. Fried Mac and Cheese Slider: fried mac & cheese on a classic american cheeseburger.

3rd place - Lagerhead Tavern

Juicy Lucy: Cheddar cheese curd stuffed black angus beef burger, caramelized onion, Bourbon peppercorn sauce, brioche bun. The Works, and Steakhouse.

Proceeds from the event benefited the Hilton Head Island Recreation Association's Children's Scholarship Fund and USCB Hospitality Program.
