'Celebration of life' event set for popular Hilton Head bar owner Phil Henry
A celebration of life event will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Nov. 7 at Jump & Phil's Grill and Bar for co-owner Phil Henry, who died Oct. 8.
Co-owner John "Jump" Griffin said the establishment the two founded 21 years ago in Reilley's Plaza near Sea Pines Circle will be closed the rest of that day.
"It will be sort of a catharsis and cleansing thing," Griffin said. "People will tell stories. There will be some tears but a lot of laughs, you know. This will be a good send-off for Phil."
Henry, 63, worked in the food and beverage industry on Hilton Head Island for 40 years. He was not married and had no immediate family on the island, but had many friends.
"We will remember our good friend and what a good person he was," Griffin said.
