Le Bistro Mediterranean on Hilton Head Island to close April 11

As of April 11, there will be one fewer place to get your Mediterranean fix on Hilton Head Island.

Le Bistro Mediterranean -- 430 William Hilton Parkway in Pineland Station -- will be close its doors April 11, according to owner Faisal Dahnoun. The restaurant has been in business since 1988, he said.

Dahnoun said the renovation of Pineland Station into Sea Turtle Marketplace -- scheduled to begin in April -- was part of the decision to close.

"I cannot replicate this restaurant anywhere," he said.

But Dahnoun, who has worked on the Hilton Head restaurant scene since 1978, also saw this as a good chance to retire.

"I'm going to take it easy for awhile," he laughed.

If you're a fan of Le Bistro's leg of lamb ("our specialty," Danoun admitted), sea bass sauteed marrakech or butternut squash ravioli, this is your last chance to enjoy.

Le Bistro Mediterranean is open from 3 to 9:30 p.m. for tapas, and 5 to 9:30 p.m. for dinner Monday through Saturday.
