Hilton Head Island restaurant Roastfish & Cornbread closes, relocation possible

Roastfish & Cornbread at 70 Marshland Road on Hilton Head Island has closed, according to chef and owner David Young. He said the location "wasn't working anymore," although a relocation is possible.

The restaurant offered Gullah-inspired fare such as stewed chicken, beef brisket, fish tacos, shrimp burgers, vegetarian options -- and, not surprisingly, roastfish and cornbread.

But fans of Chef David's cuisine shouldn't despair quite yet.

"I'm working on finding a new location now," Young said. "It could happen over the next couple of months, maybe in Okatie."
