Rum distillery opens on Daufuskie Island

The Daufuskie Island Rum Co. will host its grand opening from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release.

The distillery's regular hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tours are offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. They cost $5 and include a complimentary shot glass, the release said.
