Collision center to open near the merger of two busy highways
Soon anyone who finds themselves in the not-too-uncommon occurrence of a crash on US 170, will find relief closer than ever.
Construction on a Caliber Collision began recently on the busy highway, just off of where it intersects with U.S. 278. The car repair chain specializes in collision repairs, general auto repairs, glass repairs, and fleet maintenance for something like work trucks.
The roughly 1.5-acre site sits between the Goodyear Auto Service and the Enmarket gas station at 107 Traders Cross, in Okatie. The Goodyear and Caliber likely won’t compete with each other as the Goodyear only offers maintenance like oil changes, tire rotations and battery replacement, not full repairs including body work, collision restoration and auto painting.
There was no indication on their website of when the Okatie location would be opening. A media representative for Caliber did not respond to an email sent Friday morning. The trees and other plants have been cleared from the area pending the beginning of construction.
