Spartina Warehouse Sale tickets available soon. What to know before Hilton Head event
Tickets for the popular Spartina 449 Warehouse Sale will be available starting Friday, June 14, at noon on Eventbrite.
This year will be Spartina’s 12th annual sale, but it will actually mark the company’s 15th anniversary with a “Making Waves since 2009! Celebrating 15 Mermazing Years!” theme.
Last year’s most exclusive tickets sold out in minutes, meaning shoppers should be prepared to click the link quickly if they want to be among the first shoppers in the doors.
Spartina 449 is an upscale handbag, accessories and apparel brand known internationally, with products sold in retail shops, online and in its stores.
The annual sale draws thousands of shoppers from across the United States to Hilton Head Island High School’s gym and is scheduled for three days from July 12-14. This is a change from previous years, when the sale ran over four days.
The sale features merchandise discounted up to 80% off retail prices. In honor of the store’s anniversary, Spartina is selling two styles of beach chairs for the first time. It will also sell anniversary T-shirts.
Christy Sheets, senior vice president of sales and operations said this year’s sale will be “bigger, better.”
“I can’t describe how much I’m excited about this particular year,” she said.
Because the sale has grown in popularity, Spartina will use the entire high school gym for merchandise, moving the check-out area to the cafeteria room next door. Sheets estimates it’ll take about 10 semi-trucks to haul the apparel to the school this year.
“The customer will have a lot more room to stop,” Sheets said. “They’ll notice the amount of product that we’ll have this year versus other years.”
The sales floors will be restocked throughout the weekend for those who don’t nab early tickets.

All proceeds from ticket sales are donated to local charities. The Outside Foundation, Hilton Head Volunteers in Medicine and the Daufuskie Historical Foundation are benefactors this year.
Last year’s ticket sales raised $46,000 for charity, about $10,000 more than the year before.
Three types of tickets will be available, and they’re slightly different this year:
- Golden tickets: $50, access to all three days of the sale plus Thursday night with a free Spartina goody bag valued at over $100 worth of product plus a shopper tote
- Mermaid +: $25, shop from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday and Saturday, plus a free shopping tote, first entry into the sale and expedited checkout
- General admission: $5, shop from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday
This year there are about 6,000 tickets for sale.
Such a large sale requires extra staffing. In addition to Spartina’s employees, it enlists hundreds of “Mermaid Assistants” who are not only paid for their time but get additional perks. The spots for “Mermaid Assistants” are already filled this year, but future assistants can inquire about the spots via email.
