Being among first 100 in line at Golf Galaxy on Hilton Head this weekend could pay off
Golf Galaxy Performance Center, which quietly opened its doors as one of the anchors in Sea Turtle Marketplace on Hilton Head Island earlier this month, is planning a massive grand opening event Friday through Sunday.
Earlier plans for the grand opening were delayed because of Tropical Storm Idalia.
The retailer is a division of Dick’s Sporting Goods and stocks golf equipment, accessories, clothing and golf-related gifts. It will compete with the PGA Tour Superstore which opened along U.S. 278 in Bluffton in 2017.
Hilton Head’s Golf Galaxy offers four state-of-the-art hitting bays, a putting green, a golf services desk, and instruction from a PGA professional.
Golf Galaxy has two other locations in South Carolina, one in Myrtle Beach and another in Greenville. Its only location in Georgia, according to its website, is in Atlanta.
On each day of the three-day grand opening event on Hilton Head, the first 100 adults ages 18 or older in line will receive a free mystery gift card. One of the cards is worth $500, according to a news release from the retailer.
Customers will be eligible for prizes and giveaways with a total value of $30,000 from top golf brands such as PING, Callaway, TaylorMade, Nike, TravisMathew, G/FORE, CALIA Golf and others.
In addition to its grand opening sales and bonus points for ScoreCard members, Golf Galaxy also is giving customers the chance to compete in a “Closest to the Pin” contest. The winner will receive 50% off all golf services throughout the weekend.
