Hot days call for cold treats. Rita’s Italian Ice and Frozen Custard opens in Bluffton

Uncharacteristically warm temperatures are being recorded across the Lowcountry, but it’s nice and cool at one new Bluffton business, Rita’s Italian Ice and Frozen Custard.
The new location is owned by Bluffton residents Doug and Alisa Fulton at 7 Venture Drive, Suite 102, along the Buckwalter Parkway.
It is the brand’s only location in Bluffton and its eighth in South Carolina, according to a news release. There is another Rita’s franchise location at Coligny Plaza on Hilton Head Island.
The Bluffton location opened Feb. 25. It serves customers from noon to 9 p.m. daily.
Rita’s Italian Ice is made fresh daily on-site and available in a rotating daily selection from over 75 flavors. The menu also includes frozen custard, concretes and milkshakes, among other options.
