Quarterdeck restaurant reopens this week in Sea Pines. Check out the view and the menu

The new Quarterdeck restaurant next to the Harbour Town Lighthouse in Sea Pines is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday.

The landmark restaurant, which first opened in 1971, was demolished in early 2021 and has been reconstructed just in time for this year’s RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing golf tournament. The PGA Tour event scheduled for April 11-17 will draw tens of thousands of spectators to Sea Pines each day of the weeklong event.

The new, much larger Quarterdeck restaurant includes indoor and outdoor seating with a wraparound deck, an indoor bar and dining area on the first floor, and a rooftop oyster bar. The restaurant has 270-degree views of Harbour Town Yacht Basin, the 18th hole of Harbour Town Golf Links and the Calibogue Sound, according to a news release.

The ground floor will feature a casual, walk-up market with a fresh seafood counter, wines, microbrews, cheeses and grab-and-go sandwiches. An ice cream counter will offer 12 flavors of Häagen-Dazs.

The menu

Quarterdeck Executive Chef Kevin Keogh and Resort Executive Chef Benjamin Harris created an extensive menu that takes advantage of local seafood.

Among the appetizers is Daufuskie Deviled Crab Dip ($16.50), and local charcoal-roasted white shrimp are served peel-and-eat style with butter and seasonings (half $16.95 or full $26.95). The more adventurous may want to try the Cajun Fried Gator Bites ($12.50) to round out a day of watching alligators in the island’s lagoons.

Sandwiches and entrees include the Big Fish Sandwich, a toasted kaiser roll with a choice of fried, seared or blackened local fish filet ($17.95), and South Carolina Grouper Rockefeller served with sauteed Johns Island mushrooms and crispy Bulls Bay oysters ($38.95).

Don’t worry about missing Lowcountry classics like she-crab soup ($8.95) or shrimp and grits ($26.50). And there’s a raw bar with local and national oysters on the half shell.

The menu also includes plenty of non-seafood items as well, including hamburgers, prime rib and even fried chicken.

The wine list includes more than 40 offerings, and various draft and craft beers are available, along with specialty cocktails and bloody marys.
