Attention, Ohioans! There’s a new nonstop flight from Savannah starting this week

News announced by Allegiant Air on Thursday will make it even easier for travelers from Ohio to get to Hilton Head.

The discount airline announced the start of a new nonstop flight twice a week between the Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport and the Akron-Canton Airport.

Introductory fares as low as $44 one way are available for tickets purchased by Saturday for travel by June 8. More information can be found at allegiant.com.

Other airlines, including Delta, United and American, also operate between Savannah and Akron and between the Hilton Head Island Airport and Akron, but Allegiant was the only nonstop flight between the two areas listed on Google Flights.

Allegiant, based in Las Vegas, also operates out of the Charleston International Airport.
