Popular Italian restaurant on south end of Hilton Head closing for good Saturday night
Italian restaurant Trattoria Divina, located on Hilton Head’s south end, announced this week that Saturday will be its last day open.
“Effective Saturday, January 4, 2020, the restaurant known to many as Trattoria Divina will close its doors for the last time,” said a notice posted on the restaurant’s Facebook and Instagram pages on New Year’s Day.
“We would like to thank everyone for some of our most memorable experiences throughout the last seven years,” the post says. “The decision to close our doors has much to do with health and family than the operation.”
The post, signed by owners Harry Morales and Tamara Bream, praises the restaurant’s staff and thanks its patrons.
The restaurant is located at 33 Office Park Road, Suite 224. Its website lists Friday and Saturday hours as “5 p.m. until.“
At midday Friday, reservations were still available for Friday and Saturday nights via OpenTable.
The comments left in reaction to the restaurant’s post were emotional, with several expressing heartbreak.
“So very sorry to see this. Trattoria Divina has always been a consistently great favorite of ours, far surpassing any dining experiences we’ve had on HHI,” responded one customer on Facebook.
“The very best place to be on HHI and beyond. You will all be so missed especially by us. You are famiglia,” wrote another.
“Sorry to read this. Only wish I could make it down for one more amazing dinner before then. Thanks for the memories.”
Messages left at the restaurant and sent via Facebook were not immediately returned on Friday.
