Beaufort County wing lovers brave cold at eatery’s grand opening
The staff at Buffalo Wild Wings were kind to Rob Jacobs and his daughter Baylee and five others from Lowcountry Community Church in Bluffton.
They were the first seven to be in line for the opening of Bluffton’s newest restaurant — Buffalo Wild Wings — on Monday.
Jacobs has now been the first in line at 19 grand openings of various restaurants.
Other Blufftonians were on hand Monday to get their shot at a year’s worth of wings.
The group camped out Sunday with sleeping bags and blankets when temperatures dipped into the 40s. Staff at the popular sports bar restaurant took pity and let the group crash on the porch for the night.
“Seriously cold, but staff let us stay on the screened-in porch overnight and even turned on the space heaters,” Jacobs said.
Jacobs and his daughter and a few others from his church made it a point to be the first in line.
After the ribbon cutting, the doors opened and groups of ten people would shake hands with staff and receive a 52-week coupon book for free wings.
This brings the count to two locations for the popular sports bar in Beaufort County.
The Bluffton location is across from the Walmart Supercenter and neighboring Sams Club on Bluffton Road just south of US 278.
The other location is in Beaufort at 121 Robert Smalls Parkway.
