This Hilton Head landmark will wear plaid for Heritage’s 50th anniversary
In celebration of the RBC Heritage presented by Boeing’s 50th anniversary, the Sea Pines lighthouse will temporarily be turned plaid.
The announcement came during the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce’s annual ball Saturday night.
“We are going to unveil a little something special,” Steve Wilmot, tournament director said. “We are going to plaid out the lighthouse.”
The red stripes will be turned to plaid starting on Feb. 18 — signaling the start of a 50 day countdown to the tournament.
The tournament starts on April 9.
“The most iconic thing on the PGA tour and this community is the lighthouse,” Wilmot said.
