Hey Mill Creek and SC 170 neighborhoods: It’s not a Kroger, but it is a new place to shop

The newly opened Dollar General Store off May River Road will cut in hal the time it takes for residents along S.C. 170 to run to Bluffton.

The 8,100-square-foot store recently opened at 5 Pritchard Farm Road — near the intersection of Gibbet Road and May River Road.

Google maps shows Publix at Buckwalter as the closest store option for residents of Mill Creek (13 minutes away), New Riverside (17 minutes away) and Lawton Station (8 minutes away).

The new Dollar General will make a trip to the store only 4 minutes for Mill Creek residents, 5 minutes for Lawton Station residents and 6 minutes for New Riverside residents.

Dollar General has nine stores in Beaufort County. A Hilton Head Island location at 435 William Hilton Parkway also recently opened. Another is planned in Beaufort at 11 Robert Smalls Parkway.
