An indie movie will be filming in Beaufort this week. Here’s how get on camera
A film crew will be in Beaufort this week filming for an indie documentary focused on vegan eating.
The team behind the film are the same ones proposing a low-budget comedy “Basement Bob” to be filmed in Beaufort.
VW Scheich, head of Rareform Pictures, said “Basement Bob” is currently on hold as the team still waits for funding.
The hope is that the vegan film — “Carpe Vegan” — will help raise excitement and ultimately funding for “Basement Bob,” Scheich said Thursday.
“Carpe Vegan” is based in Atlanta and focuses on Nikita (former U.S. Olympic fencer) and Jeff Jerrel (PGA Master Professional of Instruction) as they go vegan for a year.
The married couple will be traveling to Beaufort this week for vacation, and film crews plan to document their vegan dining options while in town.
Those who want a chance to be in the film can visit several locations. Those locations and times for filming include:
▪ Breakwater Restaurant & Bar at 6 p.m. Dec. 15.
▪ Port Royal Farmer’s Market at 10 a.m. Dec. 15
▪ The Old Bull Tavern at 6 p.m. Dec. 16
